Los Angeles – what’s happening this weekend?

One of my favorite aspects of living in LA County is that there is always so much to do; some are free. 

When I married George, my parents, sister and brother all lived in Glendale.  But shortly after, my parents moved to Washington (state) and my sister soon followed.  My brother moved around a bit, but then also relocated to Washington.

I have been to visit and yes, Seattle is beautiful, and a lovely place to call home, especially if you like traffic, cold weather and rain.  Donate your flip flops and sun glasses, it is doubtful you will use them more than a month or two.

Here are some ideas of ways to entertain yourself this weekend in the Los Angeles vicinity:

“An Evening with L.A. Opera: Music of the Regency” (626) 405-2128
July 21 at 7:00 PM, Huntington Library, Pasadena
This event, which will also take place on the loggia, complements the current “Revisiting the Regency” exhibition in the West Hall of the Library. Performances by L.A. Opera singers and a commentary on the Regency period by Mary Robertson, curator of the exhibition. (members: $45; non-members: $55).

Burbank Starlight Bowl-Boogie Nights

70s theme night of bell bottoms, Afros, disco and a special live performance by the Boogie Knights band. Ringling Brothers and Barnum Bailey Circus at Staples Center
STAPLES Center at 7:30. There will be two performances on  Friday (12:00  PM and 7:30 PM) and three on Saturday and Sunday (11:30 AM, 3:30 PM and 7:30 PM).
